Fully recovered and back on trail

I'm happy to report that both Shiz and I are fully recovered from our stomach bug and have enjoyed a healthy few days of hiking.  Remember that we were still looking for the dreaded rocks in Pennsylvania?  We found them.  Oh boy, did we find them!

As some of the photos show, last 70 miles have been all rock, all the time.  The terrain ranged from bouldering up Lehigh Gap to miles on end of sharp pointy rock teeth.  Our poor feet are ready for a break!  Fortunately, we cross into New Jersey tomorrow morning and the trail will supposedly smooth out again.

I'm excited to enter New Jersey, having lived there through all of middle and high school.  It's wild to think that in all those years, I barely realized that the AT even existed, let alone passed through the state.  If you'd told me then that I'd be back in NJ doing this now, I'd have said you were crazy!

Bouldering up Lehigh Gap.  Is that a determined look or sheer terror?

A delightful campsite at the end of a long day.  The pine needles made for a soft bed.
