It's officially less than two months until we leave on our AT adventure. Holy crap. We fluctuate daily between incredible excitement, total fear, and panic about getting everything organized before we go.
My biggest struggle of late has been prepping to move out of my apartment. I couldn't be happier with the folks renting it, but the thought of not having a stable home during the hike is daunting. My apartment is such a sweet, cozy. safe haven. I'm not convinced that our tent will offer the same feeling of home.
I'm telling myself that it's all part of moving through the change process...We have the rest of our lives to enjoy comfy beds and cozy couches and running water. It's temporary homelessness. It's a small price to pay for six months of awesome adventure. Six months. Holy crap.
Otherwise, preparations are going well. Thanks to generous Christmas gift cards we're almost done with our gear purchases. If there's one entity that's super excited about our hike, it's REI! Now just figuring out the logistics of packing and storing our stuff. We're so grateful for your generous offers of storage space and support while we're away. Thank you!!
